wca_flower_newIntroducing the New WCA Member Relationship System

In the near future, you’ll see Women Communicators of Austin (WCA) roll out a glorious new website! As part of the transition, we’ve moved to a new member relationship system.

Our organization has had several names in its 87 years of existence. We were once a local chapter of a national organization, Association for Women in Communications (AWC). In 2013, after much research and consideration, the Austin leadership determined that it could better serve the needs of our members by becoming an independent nonprofit organization.

WCA, as such, is now four years old. In that time, we’ve been listening to member suggestions and ideas while working to create our new identity.

Most importantly, we strive to provide a more meaningful membership experience for you while we work to continually improve our programs and communications.

You may have noticed our new logo, which we launched this spring. That was the first phase of our new brand. Now, we are launching the new member relationship system. In the coming months, our website will be refreshed with a new look and feel.

To use our new member relationship system, you will need to update your member profile and set a new password. This is easy — just follow the detailed instructions below.

Step 1:

Please go to https://wcaustin.org/join/renew/#myaccount and select the “Request Password” option. An email with your new password is on its way! If you do not receive the email within a few minutes please check your spam folder. It will send you a temporary password immediately. Don’t worry, you can change it.

Step 2:

Use the temporary password you received to log in. After you log in, you will have the option to update the “About,” “Profile,” “Projects”, and “Jobs” sections in your profile.

Changing your password:

You can easily change your password in the “About” section.  Look for the “Password Change” link right under the initial information boxes where you can enter your name, email, phone number and website. Once you have changed your password, make sure to scroll down and click “save and continue.”

Your Profile Section:

The profile section collects information for the new WCA member directory. The directory is a compilation of all WCA member profiles that provides you easy, searchable access to all fellow WCA members. You can choose how much information to share.

This section also lets you subscribe to the WCA Forum and/or receive emails when new WCA blog posts are published on our website.

Projects and Jobs:

If you have chosen to belong to our special interest group, Freelance Austin, you will notice a Projects section that allows you to receive project posts via email from potential employers.  You will also be listed in the Freelance Austin directory.

You will also see a Jobs section where you can choose to receive job postings via email from potential employers.

When you have filled in the information fields in each section, make sure to scroll down and click “Save and Continue” before moving on to the next section.

Step 3:

Once you’ve completed the information fields for each section, you may choose to “Edit Account” to make any additional changes or inputs or go to the “Home page.”

If you have any problems, questions or concerns, contact our team. Thank you for your patience while we work out inevitable wrinkles. Stay tuned for more announcements from WCA as we continue our transition.

We look forward to getting to know you better and continuing to provide meaningful programming and professional development.
