It’s time to nominate your favorite communicators for the 2016 Banner Brunch Awards!
At Women Communicators of Austin we pride ourselves on being one of the largest and most diverse communications organizations in Central Texas. Our communications members and supporters include writers, graphic designers, photographers and videographers, career and professional development coaches and journalists as well as marketing, advertising, PR and sales professionals just to name a few.
Each year, we honor our favorite communicators with the Banner Brunch Awards.
Who can submit a nomination?
Anyone can submit a nomination for the Banner Brunch awards – you do not have to be a WCA member to nominate the people you admire.
Who should I nominate?
Who is a supportive mentor offering advice and insights to help others in their careers and professional development? Nominate them for the Gene Barnwell Waugh Mentor Award.
Who do you feel has done something really creative, looked at an issue from a new perspective and come up with a fresh approach? Nominate them for the Anne Durrum Robinson Creative Initiative Award.
Who has been an outstanding communicator? Someone whose work you admire and feel has made a true difference for their organization or for the community. Nominate them for the Outstanding Austin Communicator Award.
We have six awards categories and four of the awards are open to non-members. Think about people in your organization, clients or vendors. Look around your network for friends or business connections.
See a full list of all six awards categories here.
How do I nominate someone?
Complete an online nominations form or download the PDF version and email it to presidentelect@wcaustin.org . Each awards category have a specific list of questions and criteria and you can see them all here.
Have someone in mind who you think should be recognized but you don’t feel you know them well enough to submit a nomination? Reach out to them or that person’s staff to let them know you would like to nominate them but need more information, or ask if they would like to submit a nomination themselves.
Who selects the winners?
A committee consisting of the President-Elect, two WCA members at large, two WCA presidents and two former award winners reviews all the nominations and scores them to ultimately select the winners.
Deadline for awards nominations is March 1, 2016
Submit your nomination now and then mark your calendar for April 16 when we will celebrate the award winners with a delicious brunch, a few mimosas and a fun silent auction.
