Jen Smith: I started my social media career in 2006 as the Hewlett Packard Account Director for a social media startup here in Austin. I remember presenting to HP and telling them that they should consider partnering with Facebook. Their response? “Who the heck is Facebook and why should we care about them?” Ah, how times have changed 🙂

Jen Smith: My absolute favorite thing about Facebook is the ability as a business to connect with your customers on a personal level. You can literally have a Q&A session through the comments or ask your fans their favorite product feature and why. It’s like having your own focus group at your finger tips!
