Looking for a chance to celebrate summer and take a break from the 9-to-5 routine? Come to the 8th Annual Summer Shindig on July 28 and enjoy a night off in Google Fiber’s unique downtown space. Summer Shindig is an annual summer networking event that Pierpont Communications hosts each year in conjunction with major communications organizations in Austin. Aside from some summer fun, there are professional and networking benefits to this event.
First, it’s a fun way for Austin’s communications professionals of all industries and backgrounds to get together and learn more about each of the communications organizations in town. Also, it’s a great opportunity for people who have just moved to Austin and are looking to get more involved in the communications industry. This includes people who have just transitioned to or are looking for a communications job, and communications professionals looking to get more involved in their industry. Next to Banner Brunch, this is a homecoming of sorts for WCA. There is always a big crowd of WCA members at Summer Shindig and we have a lot of fun!
Two highlights of this summer’s shindig is the hot new downtown location, Google Fiber, and the local wine/craft beer tastings from The Rotten Bunch, a highly rated wine bar out of Cedar Park. Ticket price of $35 includes wine tastings, local beer selections and hors d’oeuvres. All proceeds benefit the American Red Cross Serving Central Texas.
