Dear WCA Mentors,
What’s the best practice for following up on a job application? —Looking for a while
Dear Looking,
Send a note in the mail! People love receiving mail, and it’s so rare to get a handwritten note these days. It’s also a great opportunity to be memorable. Skip the boring white card with “THANK YOU” embossed in silver and go for something that reflects your personality. The nicer the cardstock the better, because I’ve found I have a hard time throwing away gorgeous paper goods. And if it’s cute enough, it might just get a spot on my desk for the week. And flattery works—include a sincere compliment if appropriate. — Jenny Magic, www.sitegoals.com
