Tolly MoseleyWe talked new media at new levels!  Tolly Moseley spoke about how to find out what your blog’s special sauce is, and share how she went beyond Facebook and Twitter to leverage sponsor relationships, freelance writing and video work. Combined with her knowledge as a book publicist, she shared what editors are looking for in freelance writers, and how to pitch yourself for story assignments. But most importantly, she talked about why having a blog that does it all “right” is less important than having a blog that reflects YOU — because that’s where the opportunities are.

Tolly is the voice of Austin Eavesdropper, a blog that focuses on the creative culture of Austin and beyond. As a writer, her work has been featured in SalonTexas Parks & Wildlife magazine, and in “Mortified,” a national touring show where adults read their adolescent diary entries to a room full of strangers.  She is also the co-host of “Hungry” on YouTube’s food channel, YouTube.com/Hungry, which focuses on neighborhood eating in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Austin. In 2010, she was named one of the Top 25 Social Media People in Texas by the Austin American-Statesman, and in 2011, Austin Eavesdropper was voted “Best Local Blog” in 2011 by the Austin Chronicle.
