Julie LaraAt least 80% of communication between humans is non-verbal. We infer meaning from the style and color of someone’s clothes, their grooming habits, body language and behavior. Do you understand how your non-verbal communication style is impacting your professional success?

Julie Lara, of Lara Executive Image, clarified for us the mental and physical attributes needed for a ‘poised’ professional presence, identify wardrobe and grooming tips for a ‘polished’ appearance and describe the intellectual and social skills required to be ‘prepared’ for most business and social situations.

Julie holds a certification through the Association of Image Consultants (AICI) and served as the President of the South-Central USA Chapter.  Through the certification program, Julie learned the ins and outs of first impression management; custom color theory and analysis; body type and style analysis; line and design principles of clothing; fit, fabric and construction of clothing; hair style and make-up analysis; wardrobe evaluation and planning; personal shopping, communication skills and body language. She currently is serving her second year as AWC Austin VP of Professional Development, chairing this year’s Get Smart conference.
