I have been a member of this organization for over 6 years, and have my own answer to this question: It means having a powerful, smart group of women just a phone call away. Whether it’s for a professional or personal need, I have a small army to back me when I need it. But because I am curious — I sent out an email to my colleagues and asked them the same question. The answers are similar and passionate and in some cases simple. Read below to see what WCA means to the very members that are the organization.
“For me, WCA means inclusive. Our WCA umbrella is large enough for all communications disciplines and practices. Wecome together and share a commitment to the profession — and the art– of communicating well.”

“WCA means getting out and connecting with women from a diverse range of communications fields. It means going beyond what I think I know and exploring points of view from many angles — all while meeting some of the most fun and interesting women in Austin.”

“WCA for me is a way to network, socialize and interact with like minded women associated with or involved in the Communications industry.”

“As an active member of WCA, I’ve made many good friends, improved my leadership skills and come to better understand my role in the community of women in general and I’m a better person for it. Thank you, WCA!”

”Professional and personal development organizations are plentiful in Austin. However, there is only one I have found that offers programming worth every minute of my time, networking with an impressive group of communicators, and my personal favorite, opportunity to develop supportive relationships and friendships with incredibly genuine, talented, and just plain amazing women. “
