Best Mentee Fit:

My background is rooted in nonprofit marketing and communications, with a focus on strategic leadership, brand development, media relations, and mission-driven storytelling. As VP of Marketing and Communications at Austin Habitat for Humanity, I lead a team, manage high-visibility campaigns, and partner closely with executive leadership, which has given me strong experience in growing into leadership roles, navigating organizational change, and building confidence as a decision-maker. I’m especially well-suited to support mentees who are interested in advancing into management, strengthening their strategic thinking, refining their professional voice, or transitioning into nonprofit communications.

I believe I’m a strong match for early- to mid-career professionals who are looking for guidance on career progression, leadership development, goal setting, and balancing day-to-day execution with long-term strategy. I’m also happy to share insight on working in a mission-driven environment, managing up, building cross-functional relationships, and advocating for yourself professionally.

In terms of mentorship style, I aim to be supportive, honest, and practical. I’m comfortable offering guidance, sharing my experiences, helping talk through challenges, and serving as a sounding board, but I see the relationship as a two-way learning opportunity.

As for limits, I want to be respectful of time and commitments on both sides. I’m best able to commit to structured, consistent check-ins (for example, monthly conversations), and occasional follow-up by email as needed. I may not always be available for frequent last-minute meetings, but I will be fully present and engaged during our scheduled time together.
