What are your responsibilities as Director of Social Media and Community at Jive Software?
I manage the strategy and team responsible for Jive’s paid, earned, shared and owned social media efforts; all of our external communities for customers, partners, prospects and developers; and our internal collaboration experience for employees.

What are some of the communications challenges you’ve experienced in your role at Jive Software?
There have been SEVERAL interesting stories I can share from the battle field, ranging from social communications during the “quiet period” of the IPO to a product outage impacting one million users.

Do you have any advice to give communications professionals to flourish in the digital age?
Don’t focus on the technology! Instead, determine how to best meet the needs of both the business and your audience.
