2013 Milestone: A Forward Path for Austin’s Dynamic Communicators
Most of our blog readers are aware of our new identity as Women Communicators of Austin. Our choice to leave the national Association for Women in Communications was not made hastily or taken lightly, and you can read more about our organization’s history and the change on our website.
On March 7, we sent an announcement to our members regarding this change and a new member dues structure. I’m writing this blog post today to highlight that we’re still providing the same level of programming, career resources and networking that we always have.
With a rich, 84-year history, we’re excited to blaze this trail with you and our nearly 250 members of dynamic, powerful communicators.
So, look ahead with me at all of the exciting WCA events on the horizon:
March 28: Careers Over Coffee South Group
This members-only, monthly networking group is a perfect sounding board for professional and personal advice. The south group meets at Panera Bread on William Cannon, west of MoPac.
April 2: Leader Lunch with Arden Ward
This members-only Leader Lunch gives you an exclusive opportunity to hear from Arden Ward about her journey to becoming CultureMap Austin’s managing editor. We’ve got a waiting list for this intimate event.
April 5: Careers Over Coffee North Group
The north group meets at Mimi’s Café at Arbor Walk
April 20: 40th Annual Banner Brunch
This is our most fabulous event. Don’t miss mimosas and friends as we toast to our annual communications professional award winners and give scholarships to outstanding communications majors.
If you are not a member and want to join, or if you are a member and need to renew, do so today.
Thank you for your continued support and we’re excited to see you at one of our upcoming events.
