High fives all around to the Austin chapter of the Association for Women in Communication! For the 2010-2011 year, our chapter received four outstanding awards at the October AWC national conference and we couldn’t be more proud. Our chapter won the following awards for the year ending June 2011:
- Overall Outstanding Chapter – Large
- Most Innovative Membership Programming
- Best Awards/Recognition Event (For our Banner Brunch)
- Chapter Excellence Award (Austin was one of three chapters given the Excellence award)
Also, a special congratulations should be given to AWC member and former Social Media Chair Emily (Babb) Fraser for winning one of four national Chapter Star awards!
Not only did our chapter win big, we also had some members win Clarion Awards as well. According to the AWC national chapter website:
“The Clarions honor excellence in more than 100 categories across all communications disciplines, including advertising & marketing, audiovisual productions, books & CDs, brochures, custom & special publications, education, fund development, magazines, major news events, newsletters, newspapers, online media, photography, graphics & design communications, public relations, radio, and television.”
