As a fellow member of Freelance Austin, Diane Owens shared her insider’s view of Social Security for entrepreneurs. She answered questions about how to report your self-employment earnings for Social Security and Medicare or what you and your dependents can expect from Social Security if you die or become disabled before you reach retirement age? Freelancers in attendance took the opportunity to ask an expert.
After a 35 year career with the Social Security Administration, Diane Owens retired to pursue her passion for helping people understand all things Social Security as a Public Speaker and Consultant. In January 2009, she founded Step Up Your Social Security and began offering workshops and consultations on strategies for maximizing Social Security retirement income. She also answers questions from the public on her Social Security for Boomers blog: Social Security for Boomers
