LuAnn is a brand journalist with extensive experience writing and editing for technology, health care, finance, staffing, and other B2B and professional service clients.
As the founding principal of WordCove, her days are filled with ghostwriting and editing blog posts, reports, case studies, op-eds, white papers, industry thought leadership pieces, ebooks, and books for some of the top business leaders in Austin, San Antonio, and throughout the country. She loves working with smart businesses. The smarter, the better. Her favorite clients have included The HT Group, Bankler Partners, CPS IBEW Credit Union, the Texas Hospital Association, the University of Texas at Austin, WP Engine, and many startups and agencies.
LuAnn graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Drake University and began her career in public relations, working for nonprofits such as Iowa Public Television and spending years on the agency side for clients including IBM, Cook Children’s Medical Center, Dairy Management, Inc. (the “Got Milk?®” folks), and many others. She was featured in Mashable’s “The Future of Public Relations and Social Media,” named among the “100 PR People Worth Following on Twitter” by Conversation Agent, and served as a SXSW Interactive panelist debating epic social flubs. She has also been a guest speaker and panelist for BlogathonATX, Austin Content Marketing Tweetup, GetSmart, RISE Austin, Spark of Genius Business Camp, IABC Brazos Valley, Texas State University, Concordia University, and St. Edward’s University. LuAnn twice received the Women Communicators of Austin (WCA) Outstanding Member Award for her work with Freelance Austin and WCA’s Careers Over Coffee series.
It was through her multilayered work in PR that she was introduced to and fell in love with copywriting. She has been a writer and editor exclusively for over a decade, using her background in PR and thought leadership as the foundation of her work.
