Digital Content Manager,
Downtown Austin Alliance
Nicole Basham has worked in the nonprofit, public, and private sectors, as well as being self-employed as a freelancer. She is currently the Digital Content Manager for the Downtown Austin Alliance, a role that involves oversight of the organization’s website, newsletter and social channels.
Nicole is available for email guidance, one-off meetings, and both short-term and long-term mentorship. She can offer guidance on starting a career, navigating a career change, working with freelancers, building content marketing processes, reporting to clients, and account management, among other topics.
Nicole began her career in the international science department at the headquarters of the Nature Conservancy. She then moved into a major gifts position supporting the organization’s highest-priority cross-cutting initiatives during its first billion-dollar capital campaign. After moving from Washington, DC, back to Austin, she worked on environmental grants for parks, air quality, and community development in Travis County’s Transportation & Natural Resources Department.
In her next role, Nicole managed a peer mentoring program for middle school girls called clubGEN. She then became a freelance writer and marketer on a website for parents of preschoolers as a City Guide, as well as a number of other positions, including content manager for a local website where she covered the Austin City Limits Music Festival for seven years.
Most recently, Nicole managed the content marketing programs for small and medium sized businesses at Monkee-Boy Web Design/Full Funnel Digital Marketing.
