  • Eligibility

    To be considered for the WCA Julie Tereshchuk Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements: Full-time student currently enrolled with a minimum of 12 hours; minimum GPA of 3.0; completed minimum of 30 hours of coursework; demonstrated career commitment in communications or media; and enrolled in a Central Texas college or university.* If selected as a scholarship finalist, you may be asked to produce a transcript and confirm class enrollment. *Central Texas college or university is defined as being located in the 10-county Capital region in Central Texas including Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays, Lee, Llano, Travis and Williamson Counties.

  • Short Essay

    Describe challenges you have faced in completing your college education and pursuing a career in communications. What was your path to college? Why does a career in a communications field interest you? WCA awards the Julie Tereshchuk Scholarship to at least one deserving undergraduate student each year. Help us learn about you and the reasons you need this financial aid to pursue your career aspirations. ESSAY MUST INCLUDE A STATEMENT OF FINANCIAL NEED.

  • Letter of Recommendation

    One (1) letter of recommendation from college or university faculty member OR professional reference is required for the applicant. Recommender must provide an example of the applicant being a promising young communicator. Recommender must send their letter directly to the scholarship committee at scholarships@wcaustin.org. Deadline to submit: March 15, 2022. More than one letter may be submitted.
