Position Description:

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Communications Manager to join our non-profit trade association. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive communication strategies to promote our mission, engage our members, and enhance our public presence. This role requires a creative and strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities
 Develop and Implement Communication Strategies: Create and execute communication plans that align with the association’s goals and objectives, enhancing member engagement and public awareness.
 Content Creation and Management: Oversee the design, content, and production of marketing materials, including newsletters, press releases, articles, and social media posts.
 Event Promotion: Promote events, conferences, and meetings to ensure high participation and visibility.
 Internal Communications: Develop and implement internal communication protocols to keep members and staff informed and engaged.
 Crisis Management: Handle communication-related issues promptly and professionally to mitigate risks and protect the association’s reputation.
 Performance Tracking: Prepare detailed reports on communication activities and analyze the effectiveness of strategies and campaigns.
 Stakeholder Engagement: Identify and engage with key stakeholders, including members, policymakers, and the public, to foster strong relationships and support for the association’s initiatives.
 Media Relations: Build and maintain relationships with media outlets to secure coverage and manage the association’s public image.
 Association Governance: Act as staff liaison to association committees and active participation in association meetings, trade show, events and preparation for such events and meetings.

Qualifications
 Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
 Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a communications role, with at least 2 years in a managerial position within a non-profit or trade association preferred.
