Leah Fisher Nyfeler has worked as an educator, editor, writer, content strategist and communications manager. Past gigs include high school English teacher, course developer and instructor, freelance educational writer, technical editor, court deposition proofer, running/triathlon coach, magazine writer, elected official, speaker, social media manager, and—currently—dedicated blogger.
After serving as editor in chief of Austin Fit Magazine, Nyfeler has continued to share the challenges and pleasures inherent in an active lifestyle. Her blog, Enjoying the Journey: Observations on the Fit Life, applies journalistic print and website best practices to personal essays.
Nyfeler's freelance work has been published in print and digital publications, including Texas Lifestyle Magazine, Medium, Midlife Boulevard, and more. She enjoys a repeating editing gig at Greenleaf Book Group, where she helps authors polish their books. Nyfeler regularly provides communications expertise for Top Trip Rentals, an Austin-based vacation rental home company. In her free time, Nyfeler volunteers as a board member for Women Communicators of Austin (VP of Professional Development) and program chair for WCA's special interest group Freelance Austin.
