Here’s a sneak peak at her track, Inside-Out: Creating from “Inside the Box.”
Learn to Create from Inside the Box with Susan Busa
Need to “think outside the box?” Think again. Learn how limitations and boundaries can actually be useful creative tools. In this session, you’ll learn fun games and strategies to help you get unstuck and in the creative flow once again. Be prepared to have fun!
Susan Busa made her first short film in high school—a thought-provoking comedy about feet. She’s been enthralled with writing and performing ever since. Watch this video to hear what she has to say about using boundaries to push the limits on your creativity:
Her screenwriting experience includes Crossing to the Promised Land (Hallmark), The Jon-Benet Ramsey Story (NBC), Chosen to Live (NBC), and Reunion (Cosgrove -Meurer), and she served as a script consultant on the 2008 film, Sno Cone, Inc. Musicals include Just as You Are, The Story (both produced by Austin Children’s Theater) and the short musical play Prep, which premiered at the 2010 Frontera Fest. Susan’s latest musical, Welcome to Camp Katchikootee, will be produced by UpStage Players, premiering in December 2011.
Films and videos include the comedy short Harmony in the Hills (2006 Silver Medal winner, Park City Film Music Festival), The Adventures of Zobey (director), Jerome the Gnome, Dan’s the Man, and the upcoming web series Cougar Marching Band. She has also written and directed videos for numerous corporate clients such as American Bank of Commerce, Keller Williams, Keedo, and Benchmark Research, to name just a few.
Susan is the owner of Go Dog! Creative which develops original scripts, screenplays and theater, provides creative coaching and is a partner in UpStage Players . During this past year, her students have collectively completed more than 60 screenplays and scripts, produced four short films, five short plays and a novel. A James A. Michener Fellow in Screenwriting at the University of Texas at Austin, Susan was awarded a M.F.A. in Writing in May 2000.
