The Association for Women in Communications is now accepting entries for the 2011 Clarion Awards.
With more than 100 categories, including a new category for students and new sub-categories for bloggers, your best work of 2010 can be a contender to win in this year’s competition.
The early bird deadline for submissions is Saturday, March 12.
Our own Pam Losefsky and Kate Johanns each received a 2010 Clarion Award.
“Getting the Clarion just gave me some confirmation that I do know what I’m doing! Being chosen from among a national group of candidates gives you some confidence that it’s not just the fact that you’ve been around Austin a long time and people know you, but that your work stands up when compared to peers all around the country, so it was a really good feeling. Also, the organization for whom I did the work as a freelancer ended up asking me to join on a full-time basis as director of communications and development–not just because we got a Clarion, but I’m sure that didn’t hurt!” – Pam Losefsky
“My goal in writing this column is to explain to educators, in easy-to-digest terms, what tools such as Twitter and wikis are and how they can be used in the classroom. I strive to communicate this information in a way that helps educators communicate more effectively with their tech-savvy students, so it was meaningful to be recognized by professional communicators. I am so proud to be among the recipients of the Clarion Award.” – Kate Johanns
