At AWC Austin, we love our members. But with a group of almost 200 dynamic, go-getting women, being new might be a little overwhelming. This is why we’ve started semi-annual new member orientations/mixers. The first was Wednesday, Oct. 12 at Carmelo’s Ristorante. Members who joined March 1 – Oct. 1, 2010 were invited.
The new member mixer is an event AWC Austin is bringing back into our mix of other events, including professional development offerings, awards and networking opportunities. The purpose is for new members to get to know each other, as well as board members, and to learn about all the benefits and opportunities available to them through AWC Austin. According to AWC Austin president, Erin Huddleston, attending a new member mixer and learning more about the organization is what encouraged her to become involved.
A big shout-out to Carmelo’s for hosting us. The restaurant was the perfect setting to get to know each other a little better.
Remember, we currently have a membership drive going on. Folks who join before Nov. 30 will save $60 in application fees and will be invited to our next new member mixer, which will be in March/April. For more information on joining AWC Austin, click here.
