Is fear holding you back?

Today’s three fearless entrepreneurs were here to help. Special thanks to Anne Lasseigne Tiedt for moderating. If you couldn’t make it today, or you missed a useful quote or recommended book, here’s a snapshot of what I learned.

There was a great mix of guests today, including an image consultant, career counselor, investment consultant and inspiration coach. If you’re a job seeker, three jobs were announced and there are another three new jobs now up on the AWC Austin job board.

The panelists started the discussion by talking about fear. Here are some snippets of what they shared. 

Lorie: Fear is the opposite of growth
Melinda: Be aware of fear. Sit up and take notice.
Patti: Fear protects us from danger – it’s a survival mechanism. Don’t blow the feeling off, but also don’t mix up the feeling of fear with the feeling of anxiety.

Lorie shared a quote that helps her overcome her own fears: 

“Your playing small does not serve the world.” – Marianne Williamson
