Chelsea Cua headshot EDITEDChelsea is the WCA student group president at Texas State University. Originally from Houston, Chelsea is a senior and is studying Public Relations with a minor in Business Administration. She is also working as a peer mentor for her university along with working as a business development director at the student PR firm. Chelsea has been a member of WCA since her sophomore year and has been an officer since her junior year.

The WCA student group at Texas State is in the process of planning for a big year ahead including speed mentoring, college over coffee and attending WCA events such as Banner Brunch. Chelsea’s goal is to spread the word to all her fellow students that joining WCA is a big deal and a great opportunity to meet all kinds of women in the communications field.

In addition to WCA, Chelsea is also involved with the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) and Bobcat Promotions. In her spare time, Chelsea loves to sing. Something she has been doing since she was 4 years old so music has always played a major part in her life. She loves to work out and stay active or simply reading a book at home, watching YouTube videos and reading blogs. Actually Chelsea is writing a blog about her fitness journey as a college student.

After graduation, Chelsea is hoping to land a job in Public Relations – preferable within the oil and gas industry or environmental PR. She also hopes to get accredited to be an APR and complete graduate school. “I like experience new things and I have interests in just about everything. Due to my wide interest of things such as music, fashion, art, sports, etc, that has helped me find my calling in PR. I like to try just about everything out and when I found out how you can work in different areas of PR, I knew that was where I wanted to be.”
