Women Communicators of Austin proudly invests in helping future communications professionals grow and succeed. Each year, WCA selects a deserving college undergraduate to receive the Jo Caldwell Meyer Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded at the organization’s annual Banner Brunch event in the spring.

WCA supports the work of the student communications organizations at The University of Texas at Austin and Texas State University by providing guest speakers, assisting with professional development events and posting internship opportunities. Members also have the opportunity to serve as mentors to the students in WCA’s E-mentoring Program.

E-Mentoring Program

The WCA E-Mentoring Program is designed to provide information, encouragement and support to student communicators. Students are matched in one-on-one e-mentoring relationships with professional members. The program is designed to make mentoring convenient for mentors and students alike, allowing participants to easily communicate on a regular basis via email.

If you are interested in participating in the E-mentoring Program or serving as a speaker for the student group meetings, please email our student group liaison at
