Careers Over Coffee North

Date: July 10, 2015
Time: 8:00 am  to  9:30 am

Join us for Careers Over Coffee North on Friday, July 10 for a discussion on negotiation.

Navigating The Negotiation Process – It’s Not Just About $$$!

Negotiation is an important skill that is under-utilized by many women – at a high cost. If you don’t negotiate, you don’t get what we want. At the next Careers Over Coffee North, we will explore the negotiation process and talk about the ways you can negotiate to get what you want.

Marc Miller from Career Pivot will be on hand to walk us through the process from job prospecting to job offer. Marc will lead an active discussion to help us identify our financial AND non-financial needs. We will also chat about the questions to ask, and how and when to ask them so that you can receive an offer that meets your needs.

Marc Miller’s career journey included 22 years at IBM, several thriving tech startups, a painful stint as a high school teacher, a gig raising funds for the Jewish Community Association of Austin and a near fatal bicycle accident that changed his perspective forever. An active member of the Launch Pad Job Club, Marc found himself counseling friends and associates on their career journeys and finally realized he’d found his vocation. He would use his extensive training experience to help others—especially Baby Boomers—find careers that they could grow into for the decades that lie ahead.
