Job Title: Marketing and Outreach Coordinator

Position Summary
Caritas of Austin is looking for a highly motivated and passionate individual with proven leadership skills to implement all digital communications and other marketing activities. This person will also develop and manage community engagement strategies, as well as cultivate and steward relationships with community stakeholders to support Caritas of Austin’s work and mission. This full-time position requires strong written and verbal communication, meticulous attention to details and excellent time management skills. The position works as part of a team but takes initiative on all job duties, must be able to accurately complete assignments within a given timeline, problem solve, and work well under pressure.

The ideal candidate is someone who is a strong content writer, enjoys analytical work, is comfortable with public speaking, has an eye for graphic design, and seeks an opportunity to manage a wide range of marketing projects within a development department.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

This position reports to the Communications Manager. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Marketing & Communications
Support Communications Manager in content development and editing across communications channels including website, collateral, emails, social media, blog, newsletters, invitations, and annual report.
Develop and implement a strong social media strategy across platforms; create and manage daily social media content.
Oversee daily management of website content including news and event updates, new web pages, and Caritas blog.
Assist in the development of content and design for email marketing (Emma), in addition to special events communications, email fundraising campaigns, and automated email content; manage all email audience segmentation.
Provide analytical reports for all digital communications platforms.
Provides administrative support to Communications Manager.

Community Development & Outreach
Manage and train Speaker’s Bureau and screen all potential speaking engagements to ensure they align with Caritas’ mission and values.
Coordinate and staff volunteer recruitment fairs, service learning events, public speaking, and community awareness events.
Develop focused messages and presentations for key constituent groups.
Proactively seek new community engagement and fundraising opportunities in the greater Austin area that relate to donor and volunteer cultivation. Implement an annual Outreach Strategic Plan for expanding and enhancing Caritas’ community visibility and relationships, including donors and volunteers.
Build relationships and partnerships with diverse communities.
Collaborate with other team members to create and implement a cultivation and engagement strategy for all community partners.
Plan meetings and coordinate tabling events and speaking engagements by identifying, assembling, and coordinating requirements, establishing contacts, developing schedules and assignments, and coordinating needed materials.
Raise awareness of community partners with internal stakeholders, which include, but not limited to program managers and teams.
Coordinate and manage Turkey Trot volunteers for annual Thundercloud Subs Turkey Trot.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required. Major preferably in Non-Profit Management, Marketing, Communications or related field.
Minimum one to two years’ experience working in digital marketing required.
Additional experience working in community relations preferred.
Experience working in the nonprofit field strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Excellent organizational/project management skills with a particular focus on managing details and meeting deadlines.
Ability to work independently on projects with minimal supervision.
Basic design proficiency and experience (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator), along with a great eye for design.
Experience managing organizational social media accounts.
Ability to creatively problem solve.
Experience in marketing data analytics and tools.
Solid computer skills, including MS Office, marketing software (Adobe Creative Suite) and applications (Web analytics, Google Adwords etc.).
Strong interpersonal skills and confidence speaking with diverse populations and representing agency in the community.
Ability to respond with sensitivity and awareness to those with diverse cultural, ethnic, social backgrounds, values, attitudes and languages.
Collaborates well with internal and external stakeholders.

Work Hours/Schedule
Regular – Normal work hours and days assigned based on a work week of 40 hours.
Some events may be in the evening or on weekends. The annual Thundercloud Subs Turkey Trot is on Thanksgiving Day and this position is required to work this day.
