Clarisa is a creative storyteller with social impact at the heart of her work. Her previous employers and clients value her transparent style and her values-based approach. As a trained multimedia journalist with a talent for creating engaging content for a variety of mediums, she views her role as a conduit for community partnerships, connecting brands with the right audiences in purposeful ways.

Clarisa began her career in Austin as a freelance journalist for local and national publications. She was Yelp’s first employee in Texas and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Costa Rica before attending and Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism as a McCormick Foundation Scholar. Clarisa was a social media strategist for global nonprofit buildOn before launching Small Coffee, a boutique PR and digital marketing agency that connected authentic, community-minded brands with businesses, organizations, and influencers who share their values.

In 2019, she began working with the Austin Board of REALTORS®, and in 2021 she began working with Lick Honest Ice Creams and freelancing as a writer and editor for tech companies. She brings a vibrant enthusiasm to everything she does and truly cares about her colleagues and serving her community.

Clarisa serves on the Board of the Girls Empowerment Network and is a Leadership Austin graduate. When she’s not working, Clarisa can be found cycling and being hardcore around Central Texas. She lives with her husband and their dog, Marlo, in East Austin.
