Senior Communications Specialist, Texas Association of Counties –
Liz writes and edits magazine articles, advertising and marketing copy, website copy, and social media content for the Texas Association of Counties (TAC). As the association’s Senior Communications Specialist, she also leads projects and develops marketing strategies. Liz is the author of two non-fiction books published by Texas A&M University Press — Historic Hotels of Texas: A Traveler’s Guide and Rodeo Austin: Blue Ribbons, Buckin’ Broncs and Big Dreams. Through Liz Carmack Communications, she consults with writers working on non-fiction projects and provides developmental editing of manuscripts. Before establishing her own business in 2005 and joining TAC in 2012, Liz coordinated public relations for the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and community outreach for KLRU-TV. She also managed communications projects for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and worked as a daily newspaper reporter.
