Marketing & Communication Manager,
Susan G. Komen Greater Central & East Texas
Elizabeth Green is the marketing and communication manager at Susan G. Komen Greater Central and East Texas, which serves 58 counties. In her eight years in the field of marketing and communications, she has always had a wide range of responsibilities, though her comfort zones are graphic design, writing and editing, and communications strategy. In the first part of her career, she earned a Ph.D. in history and philosophy of science and taught history and feminist studies for 13 years at Southwestern University.
In 2012, Elizabeth made a dramatic career transition—from academia to graphic design and communications—and is nearly entirely self-taught in all the fields she works in now. So Elizabeth has a lot of commitment to and experience in mentoring (13 years as a professor advising college students and junior colleagues) and considerable experience with reinventing herself. She’s worked for nonprofits, run her own business, and has run a micro ad agency.
Best Mentee Fit:
Elizabeth is available for any type of mentoring needed. She can provide mentorship regarding clarity around long-term career direction/ development, balancing work and home life, accountability toward a goal, job search/resume development, or career transition (industry or job change). She is open to an ongoing or a short-term mentor relationship.
